Belgravia 2020 - 2021
Welcome to Belgravia Class; the home of Year 1!
This term our topic is "Britain’s Got Talent". As geographers, we will be investigating the countries and capitals of the United Kingdom. We will be learning to read maps and atlases as well as learning to use basic geographical vocabulary to refer to and describe key physical and human features of locations. We will explore how people try to preserve our landscapes so they are there for people in the future to enjoy! In relation to this, as historians, we will be finding out about significant people in our history such as Elizabeth our queen, Octavia Hill - Founder of National Trust and John Cadbury. Finally, as artists we will look at British sculptor (Antony Gormley) and make a model of the Angel of the North!
Children’s books will be changed once per week on a Thursday. Each child will be given 5 books. If, over the course of the week your child reads all 5 books, their reading should be supplemented with books from home.
Belgravia PE Sessions
This year PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon.
This year our Forest School session will be on a Friday afternoon. Children need to make sure they bring appropriate clothing and footwear each week.
Not less home learning. Just different home learning. Times tables and reading every night as a minimum. There are also weekly spellings to learn.
Additional (optional) maths home learning will also be uploaded to this page each week.
