Cavendish 2019 - 2020

Mr Crompton

Welcome to Cavendish Class;  the home of Year 5 and 6!

This term our topic is "Imprisoned".

Our topics this term will be based on two books: Henry's Freedom Box by Ellen Levine and Hansel and Gretel by Neil Gaiman. Both texts will drive our learning as we explore the slave trade and related topics.

We can't wait to visit Liverpool this term; we are off to the Slavery Museum and ClueFinders Escape Rooms on October 24th.

Cavendish PE Sessions

This year PE will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. In addition, we will have swimming every Tuesday afternoon for the first 10 weeks of term.

Cavendish Forest School Sessions

The children will be enjoying Forest School every Monday afternoon - don't forget your waterproofs!

Home Learning
Not less homework. Just different homework. Times tables Rockstars and reading every night as a minimum.

Additional (optional) maths homework will also be uploaded to this page each week.

Literacy Support
Children are encouraged to 'up-level' their work by using CPOW Pyramids. The children are aware of whereabouts on each pyramid they should be aiming in order to progress.

The CPOW Pyramids can be found below, as can Self-Assessment sheets and Special Sentence guidance.
