Cavendish 2018 - 2019
Welcome to Cavendish Class; the home of Year 5 and 6!
This term our topic is "Coast".
One of the most dynamic environments on earth is where the land meets the sea and we will be looking closely at how it has changed over time and is still changing today.
With a particular focus on human geography, we will take a visit to Blackpool and see how humans have developed and evolved our coastline in order to utilised it as a tourist destination. We will also be looking at how, in other parts of the country, the coastine is used to serve different purposes.
Cavendish PE Sessions
This year PE will be on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon. In addition, we will swimming every Wednesday afternoon for the first 10 weeks of term.
Not less homework. Just different homework. Times tables and reading every night as a minimum.
Additional (optional) maths homework will also be uploaded to this page each week.
Children are encouraged to 'up-level' their work by using CPOW Pyramids. The children are aware of whereabouts on each pyramid they should be aiming in order to progress.
The CPOW Pyramids can be found below, as can Self-Assessment sheets and Special Sentence guidance.
