Grosvenor 2021 - 2022
Welcome to Grosvenor Class; the home of Year 3 and 4! This term, our topic is the Anglo Saxons and the children, as historians, will be using sources of evidence to explore Britain's settlement by the Anglo-Saxons and the Scots. In English, we will be using two high quality texts, “Jemmy Button” by Jennifer Uman and “The Lost Happy Endings” by Carol Ann Duffy. As scientists, we will investigate local water habitats before learning about different sources and uses of electricity. In RE, we will explore Hinduism and key Hindu beliefs including how can Braman be everywhere and in everything. In Forest School, the children will consider pulleys, levers and linkages and design and build a tippy tap -they will also consider the challenges of clean water in some parts of the world. Grosvenor Class will also be working towards their Archbishop of York Young Leaders Awards and take part in a host of exciting activities designed to build character, leadership skills and opportunities to give back to the world. The children will also be planning their own community action project and we are looking forward to sharing this initiative on Twitter.
