Maths Home Learning
Optional Home Learning
Each week, children complete a "30 in 30" test. They will bring this home each week to practice any the got incorrect. Any child scoring under 20/30 will be invited to my exclusive "Thursday Lunchtime Maths Club!"
Multiplication tables underpin all aspects of mathematics. Speed and accuracy in tables up to 12 is vital by the end of Key Stage 2. Children need to learn them.
Progressive table sheets can be used to support learning.
Busy Ants activites which are links with the week's topic will be posted weekly. These are maths enrichment activities that you may choose to complete. Work does not need to be returned to school and can be marked with the child at home.
30 in 30... Challenge The Parents!
The first SATs Maths Paper the Year 6 complete is "Arithmetic" where the children are expected to answer 30-ish questions in 30 minutes! To mirror this, and based on previous tests, we do our own '30 in 30' on a weekly basis. As the children are getting steadily better, the target should be at least 80% correct, and so they now fancy their chances of taking on parents! Are you up to the challenge?!
