Thanks for all the responces. Lots of positive comments were received in this year’s questionnaire ‘What we do well…’ section. Too many to print but thank you for being such supportive parents.
3-4 people commented on the following ‘Even better if …’ section.
1. Additional parking
The school has been working with Grosvenor Estate (land owners) for 5 years to solve this problem as the designated land was green belt.. This year they secured planning consent.
A small number of parents asked for less homework, at least one parent asked for more. School policy is for children to work for 15-20 minutes. If the homework is incomplete at the end of that time they should write a note to that effect in the book.
3. After School wrap around care
The school has tried offering this facility but it was unsustainable due to low uptake. However Stepping Stones Nursery have recently opened an after school facility in the village hall.
4. Uneven class sizes
The school reorganised the structure of classes in September to address this problem.
5. School Mission Statement
Our Parent Governors worked with randomly selected parents investigating school practice. the outcome of four meetings identified that the school Mission Statement, "Nurturing Children in a Christian Environment", made no reference to academic achievement. After discussion with all stakeholders it was agreed that it should read, "Nurturing Children in a Christian Environment to Achieve Excellence." An Artist In Residence Day was organised to launch the new statement.
