Iron Age Day a Great Success!

Our visit to Burwardsley outdoor education centre was a great hit with everybody. We learned a lot about Iron Age homes and the life of children at the time. We sat in a replica Iron Age round house and enjoyed making coil pots and string. Both jobs that Iron Age children would have done. The highlight of the day for most though was the archeological dig. Children excavated historical artifacts and carefully pieced together the story of the site. It was hard to get them to stop, hence the muddy faces on return!

Thank you to the children who were a pleasure to be with. Great behaviour and a keen interest in the activities. Thanks too to John and the centre for a memorable and enjoyable day.
