Remembrance Service 2019

We had a sombre morning as we remembered those who had fought or were fighing for us in our Rememberance Service. We crossed over the road to the Saighton War Memorial where we were joined by Reverend Jules. He led us in prayer and the children sang some Remembrance songs and shared some Remembrance poems they had written before Reverend Jules played The Last Post and we, like many others up and down the country, participated in a two minute silence before laying our own wreath at the War Memorial. We enjoyed reflecting on what had been lost and giving thanks for the wonderful lives we have because of their sacrifice.

Thank you to the parents and Governors who joined us for our service and for refreshments at school after.

Later, Year 6 children travelled with Mrs Dawson to lay wreaths at Aldford Church, Chester Cathedral, Waverton War Memorial and Bruera Church. The children represented the school really well and were moved by the experience. They said a prayer at each location as they paid their respects to the fallen.

Thank you to Luke who laid a wreath on behalf of the school at Saighton Camp War Memorial for their Remembrance Service on Sunday.
