Meet The Teaching Team
Mrs Lesley Ward (Teacher)
Departing from her career as a registered nurse (RNMH) and later, a pre-school deputy, Mrs Ward joined Saighton in 2008 as teacher for EYFS and Year 1.
Mrs Ward now oversees the school's Early Years pupils, encompassing The Seedlings which looks after children from 2.5 years of age and Eaton, our Reception Class. She is passionate about giving these young children the best start possible on which to build their subsequent learning.
She is also responsible for the Creative Curriculum and Art across the the school.
At home, Mrs Ward enjoys seeing family and friends, going to hear live music, reading and, when she can, her hobby of chainsaw carving. However, nothing is more important to Mrs Ward than her highly popular annual Reindeer Droppings Club!
Mrs Daniella Pilliner (Teaching Assistant)
Mrs Pilliner was the Vice-Chair of the PTA for two years before joining the Saighton School staff in 2014. She was welcomed in to the Early Years Foundation Stage team where she has continued to develop her passion for supporting children with all aspects of life.
She is a kind, friendly and enthusiastic teaching assistant who really enjoys having a positive impact on children's life and helps pupils make the best use of educational opportunites available to them.
Mrs Pilliner loves the challenge of seing how children achieve something they once thought was impossible and finds this aspect of education especially rewarding.
Outside of school she enjoys reading, travelling and socialising with friends.
